  • Antibacterial Activity Tests on Surfaces

Due to the epidemic, which has been a global problem recently, many antibacterial products are introduced on the market.

The test method used for non-porous surfaces that do not absorb water is the "ISO 22196" test method.

Ceramic surfaces, plastics and all kinds of surfaces that do not absorb water fall into this class. The standard used in fabrics and textile materials, on the other hand, differs. The "ISO 20743" standard is used for textile products and fabric surfaces.

The general purpose for both methods is to inoculate the products with microorganisms, calculate the results according to the number of microorganisms at the beginning and the last stage of the analysis, thus helps evaluating whether the product has an antibacterial effect or not.
