One of the sterilization processes of medical products is sterilization with ethylene oxide. In the sterilization process with ethylene oxide, many medical products are sterilized by using ethylene oxide gas.
However, if ethylene oxide, which is a toxic gas, is above the limits specified in the standard, it may have a carcinogenic effect.
Advantageously, it is easy to apply, compatible with most medical devices, and penetrates into packaged products (excluding fabric packaging).
However, good ventilation is required at the end of the ethylene oxide sterilization process.
While performing ethylene oxide sterilization validation, it should be analyzed whether there is any ethylene oxide residue after the process or if it is within the limits.
