Folic acid is one of the B vitamins, also known as different forms such as folacin, folate and Vitamin B 9.
The recommended amount of folic acid that adults should take daily from food or dietary supplements is 400 micrograms.
Folic acid has no known side effects. Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin, also known as folate, which has many important functions in the body. Inadequate consumption of folic acid can cause folic acid deficiency. This can cause some kind of anemia with a small number of large red blood cells.
Folic acid-rich foods include legumes, asparagus, citrus fruits, green leafy vegetables, beets, eggs and whole grains. Bread and its varieties are the most frequently consumed foods in daily life. Breads made from various flours with rich grain content are foods rich in folic acid, but it is of great benefit in determining the amount of folic acid contained in it to meet the required needs.
