Many products used today are expected to have antibacterial properties during the pandemic experience. In this sense, many products from textile products to plastic products are introduced to the market by giving antibacterial properties.
In this sense, another feature that has emerged recently is photocatalytic activity.
A chemical reaction occurs when the coating (titanium dioxide, etc.) applied to the products in photocatalytic activity comes into contact with light. Thanks to this reaction, the formation of bacteria, mold and fungi on the surface of the product is prevented.
Briefly, photocatalytic activity means self-cleaning with light. It is very new to be applied on glass and ceramic surfaces and this type of glass is especially suitable for hospital rooms and operating rooms.
Photocatalytic activity on glass and ceramic surfaces is carried out according to the ISO 27447 standard.
